Celebrating 22 Years - Members from 23 Countries

The Rotary theme for March, focusing on Water and Sanitation, highlights the importance of providing clean, accessible water to communities worldwide. This month, we're encouraged to support projects that improve water quality and sanitation, directly impacting health and well-being. By dedicating our efforts to these initiatives, we address essential needs, emphasizing the critical nature of water in sustaining life. Our work in this area not only meets immediate requirements for clean water but also builds resilience and sustainability for the future. Let's rally together to make a significant difference, ensuring everyone has access to safe water and proper sanitation, paving the way for healthier communities globally. This commitment reflects our dedication to making life-changing improvements where they are most needed.

President’s message - March 2024

Welcome to Rotary eClub One

Thank you for taking the time to review or browse through our website.

As a member you can take part in our forums, keep up to date with what is happening in our club, review our reports on projects and fundraising activities, familiarise yourself with our members from around the world and enjoy our photo album of club activities.

If this is your first time or you are a returning visitor, you are very welcome.

Rotary eClub One was the first Rotary eClub in the world and on 4th January 2024 we were delighted to be able to celebrate our 22nd anniversary. From those early days until now we have grown into 23 countries with 74 members. It is especially pleasing that our Charter President Dr. John Minter remains an active and dedicated member today.

Our online activities are evolving and the opportunities to connect and engage with members and their families are constantly improving.

We are a live example of how a diverse group of cultures can practice and promote peace, and create hope around the world.

Our members in Rotary eClub One continue to support R. I. President Gordon R. McInally’s theme of creating hope in the world, and we do this through our service projects.

In this Rotary year

  • In India, we have built a toilet block which is benefiting boys and girls who attend Vocational Training classes in their rural village.
  • In Kenya, we are major partners in a project to build a kitchen and basic education centre for young people living in the streets of Kairobangi. The building will provide access to showers, washing facilities, and toilets as well as a daily meal and opportunity for counselling and support to find employment.
  • In India, we have also partnered in a Rotary Global Grant to provide the Gift of Life to children requiring heart surgery.
  • In Malaysia, we have partnered with the Rotary clubs of Malaysia to provide school bags to children from disadvantaged families.
  • In Mexico, we provided financial support to the Rotary Relief Fund in District 4185. This fund was established in the aftermath of Hurricane Otis which devasted Acapulco in October 2023.
  • In Nigeria, we partnered with the Rotary club of Ilorin in a Global Grant - “A Rotary health mission and menstrual care project”. Feb 2024
  • In Ghana we will partner in GG 23-52766 Water & Sanitation Project which will drill 50 new wells, provide 4 small-town water systems, and build 385 micro flush toilets.
  • In India we will help build a Study Centre to help those without work and to educate unemployed youth in rural areas.
  • In Guatemala we are supporting the Hearing Missions Foundation, this project is a Rotary club’s collaboration which will help with the fitting of hearing aids to 150 children and 150 adults.
  • Around the world we will care for Rotary eClub One Senior Rotarians through our Support Program. This program is being established to support our long serving senior Rotarians who are experiencing health and social problems in their senior years. We see the protection of our members Mental Health as extremely important as they face the many challenges of older age, and this fund will allow us to ease their difficulties.
  • In Chile we are supporting Disaster Relief following the devastation caused by wildfires across the country Feb 2024. Rotary District 4320 will manage this project which will help to provide shelter and rebuild the lives of those affected.

You are invited to review and contribute to these projects. So please check out the full story and the photos and please consider donating today.

Thank you.
